PIANOS What are your opinions regarding N.I Komplete 9 Ultimate's Piano sounds , With each new project completed and new tricks learned I also get more dissapointed with the results of my earlier efforts (in my next life, I will maybe go back and fix all those mistakes ) , and lastly I will try to edit the midi with velocity changes and note articulation changes etc. Sometimes I cheat too by using midi libraries, although I do edit these extensively, but you end up spending a day listeng to hundreds of samples before you find something suitable. My workflow in this MIDI recording dept is ridiculously slow, My keyboard skills are rather sloppy (im a guitarist), and Ive recently invested in a Fishman TriplePlay Guitar Midi and other software to help me along with getting a better range of notes/ scales/chords recorded and getting better timing with less quantizing while im at it (Master genius caps all round for you guys that have this well sussed ) , these days Im into a huge variety of styles and tastes, and re keys and its programming, Im now paying the price LOL , seeing for 20 years + I was mainly into Simple Punk Powerchords, Distortion and Fuzz and hated anything keyboard (unless it was psychelelic 60's organ) and during the 80,s id cringe ay the sound of a synth (unless it was Devo ) I've found for me this is a really, really complex subject to master. With MIDI, I am still learning many new tricks each day with blending articulations and playing with velocity / midi changes.
Personal PMIDI rogramming Handicaps and limitations. , there seems to be a good variety included, and I saw one (strings)was even 14GB, which is a rather extensive collection. I think this was a main reason why I got Ultimate ove the lesser edition. I will find a use for Balinese Gamelan ( I live in Bali ) and I hear the sound of real Gamelan almost every day, so many influences there for me. There is also a lot of the K9 Ultimate stuff I probably wont use like the abbey road drums (cant tell yet until I check them Out ) as I cant see them finding a place when I already own a really extensive Toontrack superior drummer collection.
